1. Macroom Castle - 13th century stronghold of the O'Flynns, Lords of Muskerry, home to the McCarthy's for centuries. Links with Bishop McEgan, Cardinal Rinuccini, William Penn and the Black and Tans. 
2. Briery Gap Cultural Centre - theatre, cinema, library, internet access, local records.
3. Bealick Mill, 19th Century corn mill, beautifully restored, famine exhibition, local records.
4. Carrigastyra Famine Graveyard - links with AntHathairPeadar O Laoghaire's "Mo Sceal Fein". Related sites - Workhouse, Derryleigh, Liscarrigane.
5. Carriganima - where Art O Laoghaire was shot, inspiring the lament "Caoineadh Airt Ui Laoghaire".
6. St John's Well, cure for warts, mid-summer devotions.
7. Musheramore - challenging climb with panoramic views from summit.
8. Millstreet Country Park - archaeological sites, sensory garden, deer farm.
9. Carrignagulla Stone Circle - 17-stone Neolithic ring going back more than 4,000 years.
10. Carrigadrohid Castle - reputed to have been built with fairy gold in the 15th century. Stronghold of MacCarthaigh Mor of Muskerry.
11. Farran Wood - wildlife enclosure, woodland ecology display, boating, water skiing, activities.
12. Kilcrea Abbey - spectacular ruins of 15th cnetury Fransiscan Abbey, last resting place of Art O'Laoghaire and Cormac Laidir MacCarthaigh.
13. Crossbarry - site of ambush in March 1921.
14. Beal na mBlath, where Michael Collins was shot in 1922.
15. Kilmichael - site of ambush November 28 1920.
16. Inchigeelagh - lakes, boating, fishing, scenic walks.
17. Beal Atha'n Ghaortaigh - Gaeltacht, clapper bridge, pipe band.
18. Pass of Keimaneigh - legendary leap of deer in flight. scene of battle immortalised in "Cath Cheim an Fhia".
19. Gougane Barra - source of the Lee, St. Finbarr's Hermitage, fishing, boating, walks, beautiful scenery.
20. Cuil Aodha - Gaeltacht, traditional music.
21. Baile Mhuirne - Gaeltacht, 6th century monastic settlement of St. Gobnait.

23. Dun na Radharc - ancient O'Flynn Castle ruins, graveyard, first burial place of Art O'Laoghaire.
