Macroom Castle - 13th century stronghold of the O'Flynns, Lords of Muskerry, home to the McCarthy's for centuries. Links with Bishop McEgan, Cardinal Rinuccini, William Penn and the Black and Tans.
Briery Gap Cultural Centre - theatre, cinema, library, internet access, local records.
Bealick Mill, 19th Century corn mill, beautifully restored, famine exhibition, local records.
Carrigastyra Famine Graveyard - links with AntHathairPeadar O Laoghaire's "Mo Sceal Fein". Related sites - Workhouse, Derryleigh, Liscarrigane.
Carriganima - where Art O Laoghaire was shot, inspiring the lament "Caoineadh Airt Ui Laoghaire".
